Rawmirez
Josue Rawmirez is an artist, cultural worker and community advocate along the Texas-Mexico Border in the Rio Grande Valley. As multi-disciplinary creative he works through visual art, sculpture, installation, crafts, ceramics, and performance.
Rawmirez’s multimedia work draws inspiration from his personal experience as a queer immigrant, his fronterize community, and the surrounding geography of the Rio Grande Delta’s and its binational culture. He has over a decade of fair housing, community development and grassroots advocacy. Often his work finds itself at the intersection of art and activism.
His artwork has been exhibited in the MexicArte Museum, Art League Houston, the Craft in America Center as well as in publications like Remezcla and Pitchfork.
Rawmirez is the Cofounder for Trucha, a multimedia organization and online platform focused on the arts, culture and progressive social movements of the Rio Grande region.
